		<description>All of my greatest breakthroughs in life occurred when I simply acted in spite of my fears.  

One instance came to mind immediately.  I had an excellent job with Sun Microsystems about 12 years ago.  I was offered another job with more money, prestige, etc - but I would have to report to a guy I couldn&#039;t tolerate.  After about a month, I turned the job down.  This meant I would have to find another job or leave the company. Within 30 days I&#039;d found a far better job in the company with an overseas posting and international scope.

That never would have happened if I had succumbed to fear and failed to ask for what I really want.
