This story speaks to me as a professional pharmacist, an amateur naturalist, and as an avid boater. I have spent [too few] summer days cruising the islands and fjords of Desolation Sound, and can attest to the surreal feeling that comes from being in a place so revered by the First People. I cannot help but lament the tragic loss of technical information which has occurred since first contact. Great story–thank you for sharing it! -JD
